Just got Sam Woo Barbeque delivered by DoorDash and it was awesome. The Yang Chow Fried Rice and Roasted Pork did not disappoint. The fried rice was spot on - fluffy rice, loaded with bits of shrimp, chicken, and crunchy veggies. It had a great flavor, a little soy, a little sesame oil, and just the right amount of everything. Plus, it looked as good as it tasted with all those colors from the peas and carrots. Also for my fellow asians, not too salty. The Roasted Pork was killer. Even after the ride over, the skin was still crispy. The meat? Super tender and flavorful. Ordering from Sam Woo on DoorDash? 10/10 would recommend. Great food that tastes just as good at home.

This is for the Sam Woo Restaurant at the corner of Pioneer and South. We have been coming to this restaurant for years and it's our go to when the weather is cold and we're in the mood for Congee Porridge. They prepare it with a lot of toppings and has the best rice consistency. Prices are reasonable. Also if your timing is right, they have a good selection of hot, prepared, ready to eat options. It used to be cash only but I think they accept credit cards now.

Food was delicious. Loved the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Salt and Pepper Pork Chops, fried chicken and sweet and sour pork. Cooked the way I liked it. The salted fish and chicken fried rice served to us didn't have salted fish in it so we asked the waiter, and he replaced it. You have to ask for water if you want them. I liked the free hot tea they serve. Service was okay.

We have relatives who split time between Manila and So Cal. And they say that this place has solid Chinese food, like what they prepare in Binondo, Metro Manila (which is the oldest Chinatown in the world, outside of China). So my family members strongly disagree with the 3 star average and I would have to say that I concur with their vehement disagreement. The beef chow fun had a ton of beef, sometimes you feel like it's scallions chow fun (due to the lack of beef) but this was beefy. I really loved that lobster special, I picked out a piece that had the most meat (not on purpose, I'm not that guy), it was so flavorful and fresh. I enjoyed that soup and the dessert soup too. The service was very attentive and I enjoyed my Ching Tao beer to wash it all down. I almost forgot to mention that the scallops with veggies - that was my pick and yes, I would get that again. The scallops remained firm and not rubbery whatsoevah.
